Golang Software Engineer
Invia x Travelplanet.pl x Wakacje.pl is one of the largest travel groups in Europe. Every year we help more than 6 million people plan their trips. Behind that sit teams in IT, Product, Data, Marketing, HR, Finance, Sales and Customer Experience, who build the tools and services those travelers use. Whichever team you join, your work shows up in how people plan and experience their holidays.
Your next stop:
Join the App team behind Abindenurlaub, our travel app on iOS and Android, where users search hotels by destination, book trips, pay for them and keep track of what they have booked. Behind the app sits a Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layer written in Go, and that layer is what you will own.
The BFF is the app's single doorway to the rest of the platform. Hotel search, booking, payment and trip management each live in their own services, run by other teams. The BFF calls those services, maps and reshapes their responses into the structures the Flutter app needs, and keeps the mobile side simple. Every new app feature touches this layer, so you will see the whole product rather than one corner of it.
This is a long-term, full-time position in a multinational team. Roughly half of your time goes into hands-on development and the other half into code review, API design with the mobile developers and shaping requirements with the product owner.
Job description
What lies ahead on your journey:
- Design, build and maintain BFF endpoints in Go that serve the Abindenurlaub iOS and Android apps.
- Integrate with the platform's domain services (hotel search, booking, payment, trip management) and map their data into the structures the app needs.
- Support and improve existing app features and implement new ones end to end on the backend side, from requirement to release.
- Work closely with the product owner to turn product ideas into clear technical scope and realistic estimates.
- Pair with the Flutter developers on API contracts so mobile and backend ship together.
- Review pull requests and give and receive constructive feedback; keep the codebase readable and tested.

- Integrating with other services: timeouts, retries, mapping and aggregating data from multiple sources.
- Interview Requirements: Go Backend Developer (Middle)
Your extra baggage of experience:

- BFF orAPI gateway for mobile clients; API versioning and backward compatibility with older app versions.
- Travel or e-commerce domain: booking, checkout, payments.
- Code quality: golangci-lint, SonarQube.
- In-memory caching (TTL cache), worker pools, request deduplication.
